Trailer Inspections

On August 24, 2013 the state passed SB22 to modify RSA 266:1-b with regard to trailer inspections. This law modifies Administrative Rule Saf-C 3227.01 (a) Inspection Required. This means that now only trailers greater than 10,000 pounds GVWR are required to be state inspected. It is important to note that trailers should still be maintained per manufacturers recommended specifications to ensure fully functioning safety equipment. Particular attention to wheel hub assemblies, suspensions, tires, brakes and frame rust are highly encouraged.
